The 2018 NZ Downhill Series dates are out, and with a new Series sponsor :
Is great to have FIST Handware on board for the 2018 NZDH Series.

As for the line of venues – pretty much the same as as year – which was the most attended/participated year since NZDH birth (2011).
As you may have noticed – the entry is still the same too (if you are a member of a club) – if you arent a member – join a club now – or it will cost you an extra $10 / event for a day membership.
WHY – following years of discussion about how to make Downhill and MTB a more recognizable sport – in terms of sponsorship and funding – it boils down to how many financial members the sport has. So consider the millions of people who take to our forests every year – mostly for free – enjoying some of the finest trail systems in the WORLD. Then look at the 7,500 financial members that MTB has – there’s a massive disparity there.
So – collectively the clubs of NZDH agree to do Downhill’s bit in trying to increase memberships – to make it better for the next generations – tomorrows athletes.
Most club memberships are between $30 and $50 – support your club and checkout their websites for membership details.
If your not in mood to sign up to a particular club – join NZDH – membership form will be out soon.
With a months rest after the pedal fest of Rotorua – we head to the sunny shores of Hawkes Bay for round 2 of the NZDH Series 2017 presented by Troy Lee Designs.
Situated in the eastern blocks of the famed Eskdale forest the Pakuratahi Road access course is one for the pinners. Last year saw a 1st run upset in that youngster Keegan Wright pipped local legend Brook Macdonald over the line by a cock-hair. During the break the heavens opened which ended any chance of a 2nd run victory for the Bull Dog – he’ll be out for the top spot again !
With Eskdale forest currently being harvested – it could mean that this is the last time, for some time that we get to ride this fast jump ridden course.
Have a look at the Hawkes Bay Mtb Club for details.
Attached is a map for the Pakuratahi Road pit area.
Please remember to bring your number if you have one. Also following he Commissaries course in Vegas last week- we may even have some nice people to check that the protection policy is being applied correctly.
Age groups – if a rider decides to ride up an age group, please note that the protection requirements are mandatory for the age of the rider not so much the age group. Theres a few sneaky fellas out there !!
