NZDH – Round 5 – Final – Auckland

Saturday 15th December:

Yes folks its that time of year again when we head north for the SERIES FINAL of the FIST Handware NZDH season to the famed Dome Valley course.

The course is probably the most intense track on the circuit and certainly one of the quickest in terms of average speed.  The hard clay surface providing grip on the center and marbles on the edges.  Riders will  be looking to keep it clean and minimize any mistakes.  However….. if its wet, take your spikes and a spare pair of underpants..or 2.

The AKDH club have put plenty of work into the track over the last month and looking at the track preview from the Bethell Brothers – its fast.

Check out the preview here:

The track is access from Kraak Road which is 12 minutes north of Warkworth on SH1 – at the top of the hill there is a tricky left turn which will be sign posted – once on that road – follow your nose to the top of the track.  The access road is steep and rough so if your vehicle is low, leave it at the top and get a ride down in a shuttle van.  The shuttles also use the access road – so try not be late as it is hard to pass in places.  Parking is also pretty tight at the bottom, so be aware.

At the end of racing we have the prize giving for round 5 – followed immediately by prize giving for Overall Series placings.

NOTE:  due to the cancellation of 440 – the overall be will judged from a riders best 3 results including the final – so 3 from 4 with the final being one of the 3 – simple!
