A dry week and overcast morning saw Dome Valley in great shape for the final of the NZDH Hukkit Big 5 Series. Just before racing started the sun came out, and stayed shining for the race.
Check out the results from the final here domevalleyresultsdec3, and the overall results here 2016seriesresultsfinal
Check out where you are, note that you need to race the final to be Numero Uno.
Points from your top two results and the points from the final determine the overalls.
Most categories will be decided on the 3rd of December at Dome Valley, make sure you’re there!
Day two of the double header saw 440 Mountainbike Park in Auckland take the spotlight. Changes to the track intended to provide a level playing field had been leaked on social media, but only a teaser leaving you wondering if it was a clever marketing ploy.
The sun shone on 440, some riders found it hard to negotiate the berm before the finish, and some smashed it to pieces. The mud tyre/low pressure combo seeming to be the common factor for those sliding across the finish line.

Driving up a dusty road into Hunua would have had some wondering if there had been much rain lately, but upon arrival it’d be clear that there had.
The field was greeted with the track used in 2014 for nationals, running from the trig right at the top of the hill. The Hunua Mountainbike Club ran a slick event, with the President and Secretary slaying the hill whilst running precedings.
It’s great to be back at Hunua after a hiatus, check out the results here: hunua19octresults
